Sunday was special. Because we were able to see family and friends. Because we were able to celebrate my eldest daughter's birthday. Because we celebrated in a home we love. But most of all, because we celebrated in a home that this daughter came home to when she was born, the same home she learned to crawl and walk on, from within the same walls in which she learned how to speak and sing. And with many of the same folks who attended her Christening and her first birthday.
I know that in this Army life, this is very unique.
It was a challenging prep though, having a nursing babe in tow (and who is going through another growth spurt), and preparing for this party. Are you a type A person when it comes to party prep? I am, normally...but I really had to take it back. I achieved making through it as a B+, much to my husband's relief, because I fussed quite a bit less, and I took the last hour before folks walked in the door to take my time putting on my makeup, and sitting down.
In my life, this too is very unique.
I can probably now sleep for the next week. To think that at one time in my life, I clubbed with the best of them into the wee dawn. But a kid birthday party on the other hand? Geez!
