Hello Dear Internets, I'm so glad to be here, writing. I am finally getting over a wicked fever that came on in a rush, that left 24 hours later, but had the affects as if I was hit by a tornado. And it's never good when Mama is sick so suddenly, because the shock of it gives everyone that doe-eyed look, with all wondering what to do next. Until, of course, when Hubby takes charge and the household recovers.
I prayed and prayed I would get better quickly, since tonight is New Years Eve, and when I woke up after my nap earlier today suddenly I saw the day more clearly and I walked through the house with much more confidence that I wouldn't topple over. Truly a gift! I thanked God out loud!
After all, we had our traditional New Years Pretzels to do.
Yes, I know, we are such party animals.
But believe me, with these rambunctious 4 (and being slightly not well), if we didn't have pretzels to make, you would have probably just found me on our sofa asleep, complete with my eyes open and my imagination somewhere deep in REM well before midnight. Thank goodness for pretzels! Go carbs!
I do have to say, however, that I am proud at how well my kiddos have gotten adept to shaping these pretzels. They have no fear of breadmaking! Coming from someone who was scared of making bread a few years ago, I am thrilled at how patient they are to make and wait, and are grateful for them.
And now with the New Year just around the corner, with our bellies full of our hand made bread, we will pile on top of one another on our sofa and spend the its last minutes together.
Thank You, 2010 for giving us wonderful memories and teaching us great lessons.
Thank you dear Friends for all of your support and friendship through this blog. You own stories and blogs continue to inspire and show me the depth of a creative soul.
Mabuhay! See you on the flip side!
