Happy September! I took the rest of August off, as you could probably tell, to enjoy summer and to recharge before the start of the new school year. I'm glad to be back! And in full swing.
I'm not much of a date keeper when it comes to blogversaries, but I noticed that I passed my five-year mark blogging here on typepad! ::pats my own back:: I had blogged with other venues before, but I found typepad to be my favorite; they have been so good to me when I've had questions (THANK YOU TYPEPAD!).
This blog has evolved so much since I started it, first focused on mommying, and then knitting and quilting, and writing. Readers of my blog have seen me move twice, given birth once, and endure a deployment.
And the friends I've made--they have been Amazing. Phenomenal. Humbling.
I have a blogversary giveaway in the works, probably to come in the next month. So stay tuned!
Until then, I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself in respect to writing! It is part of a bloghop that I'm taking a part in, but it was high time that I said something more besides what my ABOUT ME page says. And, Baby J is a whole year older. :)
How long have you been writing? - I've always been a writer. I have a drama-laden imagination, full of angst and what-not for love stories and heart-breaking moments. I've written numerous diaries, short stories I'm sure my English teachers were quite shocked to read (so.much.kissing), and of course have blogged for about seven years now. I started writing more seriously in 2009, but didn't complete a full-length draft of a novel until NANOWRIMO in 2011. I'm currently querying that novel, titled STITCHES OF TRUTH, a young adult contemporary romance.
Is this your dream? Yes. I've wanted to be a published author ever since I read S.E. Hinton's THE OUTSIDERS when I was 11 years old. I wanted--and still want--to impact people with stories. And ideally, through an accessible means (the library). I grew up as--and still am--a library goer, and hope that one day one of my works will be on the Young Adult library shelves.
What else do you do? I'm a mom! And a military wife. And a nurse. But I've always been a writer.
When do you write? I can grab about an hour before everyone is up in the morning and then an hour when Baby J is napping.
Well, that's it! Again, stay tuned for a blogversary announcement! And, if you would like to read other writers' blogs participating in Gearing up to get an Agent Blogfest/Pitch contest, click here! Thanks for coming!
