It's the small things that make me the happiest: getting the aperture right in a photograph, cutting into a perfectly ripe watermelon, crossing off something on my daily to-do list, and receiving a long hug from one of my kiddos.
I geek out over these things. I wax poetic in my head of how it just thrills me. I pat myself on the back as if it's all my doing. And I talk about it to anyone who happens to be around.
Why not, right? Life's so crazy, and sometimes the big things are smothered by our non-stop go go go. I feel like if we waited to celebrate just the big things, it would be anticlimactic. We would've either gotten sick of waiting, or just have given up looking for it.
As I tackle another quite-full week, these are the two things I'm geeking out over:
A pretty new cup, sent to me by a sweet friend. She gave me this cup too. Somehow she knows exactly when and what to gift. I'm convinced our brains are fused despite the years we've spent apart. She must've known I needed a little bit of warming up despite the almost triple-digit weather we're having here in the Midwest. I have a feeling this one will be my mainstay computer-side.
The second: pretty-colored Sharpies.
I only purchased a few colors the other day, and now I wished I bought one of EVERY COLOR at the office supply store. I'm looking for every reason to use them, and even debated using a different color as I outline each character for my new project. And--and! I'm even thinking of getting matching post-its. That would make outlining even more fun.
As I'm hanging onto these little things, I hope you are too! And, thank you for listening.
Have a great week everyone!
