...that I have taken all of this time (since Christmas) to knit for myself. And when I was watching Netflix and supposed to be working on something for someone else, I was in fact, making something for me instead.
I had so much guilt because I do have some very overdue projects. And there are to-be-due projects and gifts to be completed. And although I do feel that mommies should be taking care of themselves, I am not a shining example.
I decided in the new year to start taking care of myself more. Hitting the gym or the pavement more often. Leaning to love the food (rather than inhaling) I eat. Taking the time to see myself in the mirror in the morning. Crafting for myself. Seems like small things, but I feel that it's a step towards the right direction.
And what better than a cardigan as the first completed knit of 2009?
Lady Luck was with me on this one. Guage was on. I had enough yardage on hand. I had the perfect vintage button in my stash. Final fit was perfect. Drape (loose) is just the way I like it. And the yarn wasn't itchy --- taadaaa!!!
Pattern: Cavern by Cosmicplutoknits
Yarn: Cascade Tweed (love!!!)
Size 7 needles
You might notice that look of triumph on my face. It's my first cardi and the largest thing I have ever knitted, so I'm a little proud.
Just a little :)
