Are you readyyyyyy? *Cue dance music*
We take apples very seriously here.
We went back to our usual haunt: Marker-Miller Orchards. It's worth the over hour's drive to visit an orchard with such wonderful fruit...and not pay an entrance fee. Yes, unfortunately folks, some of our closer orchards expect an entrance fee! I know! Blasphemy!
By the time we got there, the clouds started to roll in, and my kids went into mission-mode. They chose and picked and ate like fiends.
Two hours, three bushels, two mums, two gallons of apple cider, half-a-dozen apple cider donuts and a massive bag of kettle corn later...we were in the car back home, full and happy.
Don't let this fool you! These apples will be gone shortly. I've got four little ones who like fruit better than chocolate, and of course, I have my recipes to go through:
1. Apple Butter
3. Fried Apples
I hope that you enjoy these recipes! Note that these recipes are not Paleo-friendly! Hubby and I are most-of-the-time Paleo, and this year, you may see a variation or two to accommodate this way of eating. If I discover a great recipe, I will be sure to post them.
Have a wonderful weekend!
