Definition #1. To pare down
Can you believe it? This is what's left of our apple spree about three weeks ago. More impressive is that I only threw away 3 apples out of the entire 3 bushels. And it was only because they were so hidden in our stash that they bruised to a pulp and I myself couldn't stomach to eat them.
Have I mentioned that I'm an expert at rotating my fruits and vegetables and my food in the refrigerator? I hate food waste with a passion. We are a three-day-deadline-leftovers-eating family, and by golly, no one is allowed to complain. (Tiger Mom-ish, FTW!)
I'm sad that I have to say goodbye to these hand-picked beauties. They gave us so much happiness these last three weeks. Because we picked them right off the tree, they are still so fresh. It opens my eyes time and time again at how far most of our produce has to travel to get to our supermarket shelves, only for it to spoil within a week sitting on my countertop.
But that's another topic for another day and even then this is not the right space for it. :)
Definition #2- To shape
My plotting saga continues.
(Ignore the cardboard! My white board cannot hold all of my cards, so I used the back of Son#2's science experiment presentation board. Reusing FTW!)
My WIP starting to come together. I had my own method of plotting, but scrapped it altogether after reading This Awesome Book that My Critique Partner sent me on my birthday (links FTW!). The methadology in this book really spoke to me, and I highly suggest my writerly friends to persue through it.
See the hearts on that board? Those indicate some handholding, eye-oggling, or maybe some kissing going on. Ah, love....For The Win, for realz...dig down deep, my friends, I know you feel and have felt it too.
I can't wait to write it all out.
How are you all doing? Doing some whittling on your side of the screen?
